The music genre for this magazine is R'n'B we can see this by the images which have been portrayed. The target audience for this type of magazine is young teenagers who are aged between 14 to 19 who are interested to listen to R'n'B music.
The layout of the double page spread is organized and understandable which makes it readable for the audience and due to it being clear it attracts the target audiences attention which enables it to view the main image and instantly you can tell what type of magazine it is. The purpose of this article is to allow other people to find out what new singles artists have created and who they are. There are two specific titles for this particular double page spread one is at the top left hand side on the page which says 'Music Happening Now'. This implies that the double page spread is talking about the new trends and types of music that everyone listens to. This allows teenagers to get information about new singles and new artists. The second title on this page would be 'The New Hotel California'. This title suggests by using the word 'California' we know that it is a well know place and has many attractions therefore would attract the target audiences attention due to 'California' being a place where famous singers would stay when on holiday. This would make the audience interested. This would have an positive affect as the audience will be allowed to explore more than just the music but about a variety of other things, thus will prevent the from getting bored.
The conventions used on the double page spread are 'Making Hits: Jamie Foxx and Drake'. This convention implies that the magazine will talk about new hits which are coming out by Jamie Foxx and Drake. This will also help the magazine to sell as they are both well know and famous artists in the music industry. Also the main colours used on this double page spread are black, red and white. All three of these colours used together make the magazine look attractive and standout as they are bold colours. The colours are also appealing to the target audience and are for both males and females. The colour white indicates clear and bright also when you have a white background on top of the black writing it engages the reader more as it makes it easier to read and looks more interesting. The colour red suggests the love and passion that the target audience might have for the music.
The text ratio for this type of magazine double page spread is more text than images. This has a effect as there is not too many images but more text to inform the reader about the article and give them as much informationas they can. Also by having less images and more text it will give the audience a clearer understanding of the article as the writing will be more explanatory then the images. The images which have been protrayed on the double page spread is for Drake and Jamie Foxx. This will have a positive effect on the target audience as it will persuade them to buy and read the article as both Drake and Jamie Foxx are well know, famous artists in the music industry. There is also another image on this double page spread of a music recording stuido. This will also garb the target audiences attention as they may be interested in going into a career that involves music recording. In the image you can see that the studio looks proffesional and eye-catching because of the way it has been set out and the colour used. The clothing of Drake and Jamie Foxx are casual but smart. This will influence the target audinece because if they become music artist then they will be able to look like that.
The tone of the magazine is mocking young typical teenagers who are interested in listening to R'n'B music. This is because of the way Drake and Jmaie Foxx are dressed and positioned in the image. The magazine does use standard English as the copy on the double page spread and is clear and understandable.

The music genre of this contents page is R'n'B. The target audience for this magazine is girls between the age of 14 to 18, we know this because of the colours used which are girly and also the language is informal so it's understandable for that age groups. For example 'Future Club NME Tour' this also suggests that tours are for young age groups and links back to the target audience.
The main image of this contents page is of a young boy band therefore would attract attention to young girls and they would want to know who they are. The image relates to the music genre because of the way they are portrayed and the way they are dressed in the image. The image is framed at the top of the the contents page on the left hand side. It is not a very large image therefore this has an effect that the information on the contents page is more important and relevant than the image. In the image the boy band are dressed very casually and are standing in different positions. There are no patricular props used in the image. There are also three other smaller images on the contents page, one is of two women singing, the other is of a female shopping and the last is of a male artist being interviewed.
The text has been displaced all over the contents page in diffrent sizes, shapes and colour. There is a varitey of both images and pictures therefore is not boaring and will persuade young female teenagers to read the magazine. Colours used on this contents page are pink, black and white alothough there is a slight use of red and yellow on some parts of the contents page. This contributes and makes the mood of the magazine positive as the conotations of these colours are bright, happy, and attractive. Both the image and colour related to the target audience of teenager, females aged 14 to 18 is due to the way in which they have been layed out and styled on the page.
The name of this magazine is 'NME' which stands for New Musical Express. This relates to the target audience as 'New' connoates something which is updated and resent which will create a centre of attention to and convince the audience to read the magazine. The writing is clear and read able therefore will reflect on the target audience in a positive way and not put them off from reading it as a whole as the contents page is normally the second page in the magazine. This would also suggets to them that the remaining part of the magazine will be interseting.

The music genre of this music magazine would be R'n'B due to the style and layout. The target audince for this would be teenagers which are 14 plus years of age. This is because of the languaged used on the cover of the magazine, for example 'MTV Offers' this relates to teenagers as many of them watch the MTV channel, this may persuade them to pick up the magazine and buy it.
The main image of the magazine is Beyonce, this is ideal to the cover of the magazine as she is a wll know singer and familar to may. The image relates to the music gener becuase her music has sold many ablums around the counrty. The image is in the centre of the magazine and takes up majoriyt of the cover room. This is effective because it is eye-catching for the audience due to it being the first thing they would see when they look at the magazine. The magazine conventions included are the main image of Beyonce, masthead 'Billboard', straplines such as 'the ticket master' and a pug 'YBF'. Cionvetions which are not included are the price, barcode, kicker and skyline.
The style of clothing which she is wearing shows her high status within her career and implies that is is also highly career-driven. It also implies an elegant look as she has eye contact to the audience viewing the magazine. The mak-up she is weraing is very simple and minimal therefore looks natural. However, as the main image is black and white you cannot tell too much about her make-up. There are no Specific props used as she is wearing a braclet which goes around her wrist to her fingure. This shows that women do not have to wear a lot of accesories, props or make-up to make them look good The main colour used is black and white, although some of the straplines are red and the mast head has the coloures red, yellow and blue used. This is so the masthead standsout and is more visible. The image relates to the target audience as Beyonce is looking directly at the audience who is viewing the magazine. This would make the audience feel involved and able to relate themselves.
The name of the magazine is 'Billboard' this may be because the conotations of a billboard are big, eye-catching, and simple. Therefore form looking at the cover you can tell that its trying to attract attention and pursuade people to buy the magazine. Beyonce is looking directly at the camera therefore, it creates a postive effect due to it making the audience feeling happy and apart of the magzine. Most of th copy has been placed on the left hand-side of the magazine which are the straplines. This may be becuase the image does not want to be covered as it is important for the audience to see. The mast head goes across the top of the page so its view able and clear to the audience. Lastly 'Beyonce, I want to be an icon' is at the bottom of the page and her name has been written big therefore will draw attention to the audience. There would be various aspects covered about music in the magazine.

I have chosen to call my magazine 'The Sixth Form Centre and Lordswood Girls School' because this is the name of the school i have attended. The significant words which i have used are 'sixth form centre' this suggest that the school offers places to a wide range of people. The front covers main image is of two girls this suggests that the school is a girls school. Whereas on the contents page there is a image of a male sixth former this suggests that the sixth form is open to both males and females.
This magazine is aimed at sixth formers so they know what is happening in the sixth form and what is being offered to them and wither the school is the right choice for them. It is quiet visible that the magazine this aimed at sixth forms due to the images and straplines used on the cover and contents page. The reader interacts with the magazine by the straplines which relate to them and which is something they would like to do.
On the front cover of my magazine I have an enlarged image on the background of a sixth form drama lesson. Using Photoshop I have blurred the image this makes the cover look more interesting and attractive. This is an advantage, as it will enable the target audience view how entertaining the sixth form is and what sort of subjects they offer. This lets us that the target audience are young and what to learn to achieve higher. There is also a school logo on the magazine, which allows the target audience to see what sixth form the magazine is form. The cover also contains straplines, which consist of the information, which is in the magazine this with attract the target audience to pick the magazine up and read it. The images and straplines are used on the magazine to create a centre of attention to the audience and persuade them to come to the sixth form. I have used a colour scheme on the cover and contents page to keep it simple and professional. I think that the magazine does look similar to other magazines and it encloses similar aspects to other magazines.
This is a free magazine as it provides information to students about the school and sixth form in order to attract there attention and also to give them a reason for why they would chose this sixth form over others. This magazine is neither cheap nor expensive as it involves information about education. Although on the other hand it would need to look representative to attract students.
The magazine would contain results of other and past year groups to show other students, which do not attend the school or sixth form centre, what they can achieve if they do decide to join. It would also explain information about school events and activities that students can be involved in. This implies that the school offers much more than just the basic subjects. Subjects, which are covered, are school council, A Level and GCSE results, learning skills and a lot more.
